Please leave firewood from home at home. Ours is cut nearby, which keeps tree pests out of the forest.

A cattle farm first,
a campground since 1968.
Dale’s grandparents ran cattle on this creek bottom until 1968, then mowed the lower field for twelve tents. We kept the hemlocks, the swimming hole and the old barn, then added hot showers, hookups and a store.

A year on the creek,
from trout to peak color.
The creek changes every few months. This year the first cool nights showed up on September 8, and the October color weekends are nearly full.

The creek is stocked in April, and anglers are out at first light below the swimming hole.

Tubes at the store, a put-in by the Creek Loop and a slow half mile back to camp.

The first cool nights arrive, the sourwoods turn red and the fire circle fills up again.

Every ridge turns for about two weeks. These weekends book up by early summer.

Apple butter on the fire, the last pancakes of the year and the gate closes November 30.
